This Animal Life
We have more in common with other animals than we used to think. We want to know everything about them, even what it’s like to be them.
Come along with us as we find out what it’s like to be an octopus, a city pigeon, or a cadaver-sniffing dog.
Join my guests and me as we share our research, wonder, and most compelling animal stories

I'm listening to ALL of your posted podcasts in order and LOVED them. Your topics are so interesting (I wanted to be a shark biologist, growing up), and I can't wait to hear what's next. You're such a good host - humorous and animated and informative. Excited to add this to my podcast list!

I’m super picky about podcasts. I have to like the presenters’ voices. The content has to interest me, and the presenters have to be smart enough to see the broader issues. The presenters have to respect my intelligence as a listener, and not get so fixated on minutiae that I lose interest. This is successful on all counts. Highly recommended!”

I’m actually not a podcast person but I like this one. I liked the chat style – it really was as if I was listening in on a conversation. The episodes are long enough to get your thought process going - long enough to want to talk about it afterward - but it's hard not to talk about it too much!

I love your podcast This Animal Life! You guys are great and funny.

I just listened to the bull shark episode and, friends . . . this show is incredible. This one made me cry. It's the first podcast which ever inspired me to look up the show notes. Now I have a whole new appreciation for denizens of the deep. I can't wait to listen to the next three episodes--on dogs, chimpanzees, and cats. Give it a listen, then subscribe and like--do all the things that make art successful these days. These ladies deserve every bit of attention we can gather for them. They're fantastic.

So Very Interesting and Informative and Fun! . . . I like learning. I don’t like it to FEEL like I’m trying to learn. These episodes are compelling me to think about animals in a new way— and I like it!

Superb! I thoroughly enjoy listening to these podcasts. I’m surprised at how much I learn because I’m a bit of an animal nerd myself. Every topic is thoroughly researched and unique. Great podcasts!
